Position Summary: ILS is seeking an engineer with experience in the design, repair, and modification of facility Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Environment Control Systems (ECS). Applicant experience should include plumbing systems, central chilled and hot water systems, central air handling units, specialized HEPA filtration systems, air temperature control, humidity control, PLC HVAC control systems, water treatment, and indoor air quality for critical launch facilities and related support buildings.

Citizenship Requirement: This position requires access to hardware and technical data subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) export control regulations. Accordingly, all applicants must be U.S. persons which includes U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents (i.e., Green Card holders), and or other protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3).

Minimum Education/Experience: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited engineering school and 5-6 years of related engineering experience.

Description of Duties

Interface directly with customers and third-party vendors to learn about facilities and systems.
Define, verify, and validate design, operations, and maintenance requirements.
Design and/or sustain systems.
Support the development of statements of work and task orders for contracts and procurement of systems and/or support.

Required Skills/Abilities/Certifications

Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and system design.
Professional Engineer (PE) license desired.
Successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Work in a collaborative team environment with customers and associated contractors.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Understanding of ISO certified cleanroom environments
